Pumpkins

As you may have read on Erica's blog, I've been under the weather lately. Or really, knocked on my butt, living in bed for two and a half days. In any case, the other night after I had gotten past the worst of it, I was having a dream that I was supposed to be making some food for Kent and Erica was about to leave the house to go do something while Kent and I hung out.

I was microwaving a small pumpkin and a tube of saltine crackers, but for some reason the saltine crackers were bubbling as if they were in boiling water. At this point for some reason real Erica nudged me in the bed, probably turning over or something. In my dream she was heading out the door so I whispered "Wait! I need your help." "What do you need?" she asked. Obviously the crackers were not behaving, anyone could see that. After waiting a few moments for her to clue in, I started trying to explain things to her. I don't remember exactly what I said, but when I mentioned the pumpkin she said, "There aren't any pumpkins here, go back to sleep." At this point I was coming around and realizing I'd just crossed a dream with reality, so I got out of bed for a moment to sort it out. When I got back in bed I whispered "Your logic is impeccable."

That's hilarious! Dreams when sick are extra weird and vivid for me too. Hope you're feeling better.

p.s. my word verification word looks like some sort of impostor French word - "congiere" :-)
