One year

It is hard to believe that Kent will be one year old on Thursday. Last night I was thinking about how we asked each other why they let us leave the hospital with a baby when he was just two days old. We didn't know anything. And in many ways we still don't. That's ok though, we're picking it up as we go, and it's been well worth the effort even through the occasional hard knocks.

Tonight while we were reading bed time stories (Dr. Seuss' ABC and Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb) Kent was standing up, unassisted, on our bed. Walking certainly seems right around the corner, which is pretty amazing. And dangerous for our cats, who he loves but loves a little too well. So it goes. I'm sure they'll find new hiding places and they can definitely run faster than he can (so far).
